The Successful Business Plans Financial Spreadsheets Kit contains a comprehensive suite of user-friendly spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel.
All you need to do is insert the financial data for your new business and professional looking reports will be generated automatically.
It is not necessary to have any accounting or spreadsheet knowledge to develop your financial statements – simply follow the easy instructions provided.
Financial spreadsheets are provided for your Production & Sales Forecast, Cash flow, Profit & Loss Statement, Depreciation Schedule, Balance Sheet, Sensitivity Analysis, Financial Ratios, Graphs and Assumptions.
The spreadsheets are all linked. Information inserted in one financial spreadsheet will automatically update succeeding financial spreadsheets.
Financial spreadsheet templates are provided for one, three and five-year periods in monthly and yearly intervals. Simply select the spreadsheets most suitable for your requirements from the suite provided.

Instructions for Use
We provide easy to follow step-by-step instructions to guide you through the process of compiling your financial statements. By completing the spreadsheets in the order we specify information inserted in one cell automatically updates succeeding spreadsheets. We use color coding to indicate which cells require data to be entered manually, which cells can be changed at your option and which cells should not be changed.
The Assumptions Page is where you insert data to provide the basis for the linked financial spreadsheets which follow. By clicking on either “New” or “Existing’ business, the spreadsheets will automatically be formatted to cover a 3-year operating period for a new business, or 5 years for an existing one.
You can also specify the % gross margin you expect to achieve, customer payment terms, supplier payment terms and more. You can change these assumptions at any time during the preparation of your financial plan and the impact will automatically flow through to the financial spreadsheets. This is useful for testing the sensitivity and robustness of your business plan. e.g. You can test the impact on your cash flow by changing Customer Payment Terms from 30 to 60 to 90 days etc.
The Production and Sales Forecast is where you enter the forecast quantities and unit prices for each product or service you plan to sell. Totals flow automatically to the Profit and Loss statement.
The Profit and Loss Statement records your forecast income and expenses. The profit and loss links automatically to the Cash Flow Statement and to the Balance Sheet.
The Cash Flow Statement records the flow of funds in the business. You can test the sensitivity and robustness of your cash flow by changing the cash payment and cash receipt assumptions on the Assumptions page.
The Depreciation Schedule automatically feeds both the Profit & Loss Statement and the Balance Sheet.
The Balance Sheet shows the financial position of the business at particular points in time. There is no need to manually enter any data in the Balance Sheet – all data has been generated in the preceding steps.
The Sensitivity Analysis will highlight the viability and robustness of your business plan. You can change the variables on the Assumptions page or spreadsheets in order to further test if there are any weaknesses or unacceptable risks in your business model.
Key Ratios are included in your Spreadsheets Kit. The ratios are calculated automatically – there is no need to enter any data.
Graphs pictorially illustrate key indicators and trends in your business plan. They are calculated automatically from the data in the preceding financial spreadsheets.
